On Monday September 2, Jameis Winston and the Florida State Seminoles displayed to the world that the quarterback position is in good hands. The first half was magnificent, and it resembled visions of Teddy Bridgewater throwing the ball from the night before. At halftime Florida State has a 28-10 lead.
After Pittsburgh scored a touchdown on their first possession, Florida State showed promise on their first drive, but it stalled after Jameis Winston lost his helmet on a first down run. A couple plays later they had to punt the ball back to the Pitt Panthers.
Soon after, the flood gates opened for the Florida State Seminoles. After a sudden change interception by Jalen Ramsey, Jameis Winston completed his first touchdown pass to Nick O’Leary. The score was tied at 7 by the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Florida State scored 21 points led by two more Jameis Winston passes. Winston also added a short touchdown run.
Tight end Nick O’Leary has two touchdown catches and Rashad Greene has 7 catches for 115 yards in the first half.
Still, the first half belonged to Jameis Winston who finished the half going 17/18 through the air, with 3 touchdown passes. With 240 yards already, he is on pace to surpass the 400 yard mark.
At the start of the 3rd, Florida State leads, 28-10.
