A junior college basketball recruit for Florida State University was arrested for allegedly eating marijuana so that he could conceal it from the police. ESPN reported on Jan. 21, 2014, that basketball forward Cinemon Bowers was arrested with two teammates after a traffic stop.

The 20-year-old Bowers committed to Florida State back in Sept. of 2013.

Bowers and teammates Torian Graham (20) and Jamaar McKay-Taylor (19) were pulled over by the Marianna Police Department and officers said they smelled marijuana coming from the car.

The three basketball players ate the marijuana in order to try and conceal it from the officers after they were pulled over for speeding. All three were charged with tampering with evidence and taken over to the Jackson County Correctional Facility.

Chipola College, where they currently are enrolled, were suspended indefinitely by the school. Coach Patrick Blake says they will remain on suspension until all of the legal stuff pans out. Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton said he will "wait until I get all the complete information."

There has been no word from FSU as to how this may affect Bowers' transfer or eligibility.
