Florida Spring Hamfest Calendar 2013
The Orlando Hamcation just past [Feb 8, 9, 10] was a big one, with a lot of action on Friday afternoon. If you missed it, there is always next year. There were lots of outside tailgaters, indoor exhibitors, and good attendance for both Friday and Saturday. Here are the next ham radio events for Florida -
Zephyrhills, Satrurday March 2, 2013 - Usually starts around 7:30 am at the Lyons Club, 5827 Dean Dairy Road, Zephyrhills, FL. 33541. Admission is $2/person, plus an additional $3 for tailgate space for sellers. Talk-in is on the 147.135 Repeater, W1PB.

Hudson, Saturday March 16, 2013 - Gulf Coast ARC, at the EZ Mini Storage, 15830 US-19 N, Hudson, FL 34667. General admission starts at 8 am. Admission is $6/person, including tailgate space. Talk-in is on the 146.67 Repeater.
Stuart, Saturday March 16, 2013 - Martin Co. Hamfest, at the Martin Co. Fairgrounds, 2616 SE Dixie Hwy., Stuart, FL 34994. Grand prize in the drawing is a TS-480SAT.
Oakland Park, Saturday April 13, 2013 - Cy Harris W4MAQ Memorial Free Flea, at the Collins Center, 3900 NE 3rd Ave., Oakland Park, FL. Sponsored by the Broward Amateur Radio Club.
Cocoa Beach, Friday and Saturday April 19 & 20, 2013 - at the Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront Hotel, 1550 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach, FL 32931. This event is sponsored by the Southeastern VHF Society & Florida Weak Signal Society, and is an official ARRL Convention. Convention, conferences, and flea market are all included in this event.
Orlando, Saturday April 20, 2013 - AES Tailgate at the Amateur Electronic Supply outlet, 620 Commonwealth Ave., Orlando, FL 32801. This event is located just off SR-50 East, [Colonial Dr.], north of the Orlando Executive Airport.
Coral Gables, Saturday April 20, 2013 - UMARC Free Flea, at the University of Miami Physics parking lot, 5101 San Amaro, Coral Gables, FL 33114. Sponsors: Flamingo Net ARC & University of Miami ARC.
Tampa, Saturday April 20, 2013 - TARCFest at the Tampa Amateur Radio Club clubhouse, 7801 N. 22nd St., Tampa, FL 33610. Sponsored by TARC. Starting time is around 7 to 7:30 am, with a $3/person admission, and an additional $3 tailgate charge for sellers. Parking is free. Click here for more info. Repeater N4TP - 147.105 MHz. The clubhouse is easily accessed by taking Hillsborough Ave. [US-92] to 22nd Street, and then going north on 22nd Street until you reach the dirt road into the club property.

Remember that most of these hamfests and radio flea markets open around 7:30 to 8 am on Saturday. Two-day events which are open Friday and Saturday have particular times given by the respective web sites.
