When it comes to marketing and promoting something, the critics can be excruciatingly tough. At least that’s what Enterprise Florida found out on Wednesday when criticism of its new promotion for Florida’s job growth started pouring in, according to Yahoo! News.

Via a press conference to unveil its brand new slogan with Florida Gov. Rick Scott and Commerce Secretary Gary Swoope present, Enterprise Florida recently unleashed its new slogan and logo. The negative reactions from critics hit comment sections of media posts and social networking sites regarding the blatant sexism of the logo's graphic.
The slogan which Enterprise Florida – a publicly funded organization – put forth, with members of the Enterprise Florida Board and the Florida governor touting it, says: “FLORIDA: The Perfect Climate for Business.” While the words are fine, the graphic has been found disturbingly inappropriate. If one looks closely, the slogan-logo has a tie where the "I" should be in the spelling of “Florida.” Naturally, a tie is a traditional symbol of business attire of a male businessman. So, critics are asking, where does the businesswoman come in? She obviously doesn't in the logo.
While some are saying that the alleged logo flaw is much to do about nothing, there is no word as to whether those who believe it is much to do about nothing are males or females.
Perhaps the sexist logo could be altered to have the "A" in the spelling of “Florida” look like a dress? Just a thought.
