Florida’s private sector created 33,700 jobs during April 2014. In April, the fourth consecutive month, Florida’s labor force increased over the month. The state’s labor participation rate was 60.7 percent in April, up 0.2 percent from March, according to a May 16 statement from the Office Governor Rick Scott.
In the release, Governor Rick Scott was quoted as saying, “With Florida’s unemployment rate dropping to 6.2 percent, we’re succeeding in creating an opportunity economy,” said Scott.
“This is good news. I am always glad when I hear that more jobs are being created,” said Thomas Lyons, a waiter in Miami.
