ORLANDO, FLORIDA — With dozens of worldwide guest TV news appearances since her Halloween birth in the living room of Central Florida biologist Daniel Parker, the gorgeous baby albino Honduran Milk Snake with x2 heads is sure to be a star at Repticon Orlando this Saturday.
The event will be held at the Central Florida Fairgrounds at 4603 West Colonial Drive in Orlando, Florida 32808.
Parker will be doing a special presentation featuring the snake - who has yet to be named - on Saturday at 2:00 PM. The appearance is the baby's first before the general public but she's capitivated worldwide audiences with TV news appearances filmed live by crews from as far away as Spain and Japan.
"She's probably been seen on more TV cameras than any baby snake in history," he said, adding that the snake seems aggressive toward food - which is a good thing for her survival.
He said the two joined sisters don't one another fight over food, but that the dominant sister does all the eating while the other looks on placidly. The snake is also very docile toward people.
"She is a pleasure to handle," he said.
Each step in the little snake’s development has been watched by the world-wide media. Her birth on the weekend of Halloween, then all-important first meal (and subsequent digestion) during Thanksgiving week captured the imagination of the herpetological community worldwide and made global headlines. (See posted video courtesy of Sunshine Serpents released a video of the snake’s first meal at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPpxwtnn5hk. Dr. Dan Rieck of Rieck Chiropractic in Dunnellon, FL recently performed an x-ray.
Parker said, "The results were both fascinating and encouraging. Other than the unique bifurcation of the spine, the anatomy of the snake appeared to be normal and healthy."
Parker said his presentation will give be packed with colorful photos, video, and fascinating facts on this and other two-headed snakes.
“We are very excited to have this opportunity to share this special animal with the public,” he said. “I hope that this snake’s life can help me share with others the fascination that I have always felt with reptiles.”
