According to CBSsportsline.com, Florida quarterback, Tyler Murphy has decided to transfer from the program. After graduating from the University of Florida on Saturday, it was announced that Murphy was leaving the program on Sunday.
Due to injuries, Tyler Murphy started six games for the Gators and played in seven. He replaced Jeff Driskel as the starting quarterback in the Tennessee game. Unfortunately for Murphy, he also was injured during the season, and missed the final three games.
Tyler Murphy led the Gators in passing yards and touchdowns. He finished his shortened season with 1216 yards and six touchdowns. However, Murphy also led the team with five interceptions. Murphy didn’t do much in the running game, but he did score three touchdowns on the ground.
This was Murphy’s first chance to contribute on the field and it looks like he would be relegated to the bench in 2014. With only one more opportunity to play college football, Murphy hasn’t decided where he will transfer to.
Florida won four games and finished the season with seven straight losses.
