Florida man shoots naked man found choking family dog (Photos)

A homeowner awoke to a bizarre scene early Wednesday morning outside of his Miami, Fla. house.

According to Wednesday's Miami Herald, the homeowner heard his dog barking, grabbed his gun, and went outside to see why the dog was upset.

What he found was a naked man who was choking the family dog, identified by NBC 6 News as a Rottweiler.

The homeowner tried to save the dog from the crazed stranger. It was then that the intruder shifted his attention from the dog to the homeowner, and according to the police report, began biting the homeowner.

The dog's owner, fearing for his life, shot the man.

Family members were able to call 911 and the authorities arrived, finding the suspect still combative, despite having been shot in the leg.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

According to NBC 6 News, the police are hoping that someone will recognize him. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.

The individual will be facing multiple charges following his strange escapade, including animal cruelty and resisting arrest.
