The world stood still when this story was first released, but the "Florida man sells Extra Terrestrial Vehicle on eBay for $100,000" story was never complete. With just a couple of pictures, does that really do justice for such an incredible vehicle? Absolutely not.
I had the opportunity to sit down with the creator Mike Vetter of MTVconcepts.com and we discussed the "Extra Terrestrial Vehicle" project from start to finish. Before we get into the vehicle, let's talk about the man behind the mysterious miracle. Mike Vetter is a determined creative spirit who has been blessed with the ability to extract vision into reality. He builds custom cars for a living, and not just a simple upgrade like your average "custom" car. No, Mike takes it to the extreme and fully customizes everything.
When I first saw the ETV, I was enamored by the sheer quality and level of perfection. The paint, body lines, and design is flawless; I am not kidding when I say this man creates vehicles to the standards of Bugatti, Ferrari, Bentley, and other top-shelf hand-built vehicles. It takes him months upon months to build a vehicle, but when it is done, the car is literally perfect.
The interior of the Extra Terrestrial Vehicle reminds me of the last time I sat in a Bentley. Everything is custom stitched with the highest quality leather and design. Flowing interior components covered in alcantara or suede engulf the passengers for a delightful experience. Featuring front and rear cameras, there aren't any blind spots that would render the vehicle impossible to operate. The windows while they may appear small and covering, are actually placed perfectly so you can always see what is around you. The seats where extremely comfortable. Not once during my hour long ride did I experience any lack of comfort.
The exterior of the ETV is quite handsome and in fact, one may even venture to call it sexy. The pictures of this vehicle simply do not do it justice; this is one you must see in person to truly appreciate the craftsmanship and skill level that has been built into it. Exotic styling abundant throughout, the exterior is complimented by accent LED lighting, Lamborghini quality paint, and several technological goodies that verify the nameplate.
Performance and handling
Appearance isn't the only thing Mike Vetter perfected; he also took his time to make sure the vehicle was 100% functional and capable of being used as a daily driver. Equipped with air suspension, the ETV can be raised and lowered an impressive 8" or so to accommodate uneven roads, speed bumps, or even curbs. Want to drive it through the snow? Not a problem. Mike told me about one customer who daily drives his ETV through the worst of northern snow without any problems!
Thanks to a Cobalt SS drivetrain, the ETV is actually quite fast. While you may think that a vehicle with so much custom fabrication can't be driven at high speeds, think again! We took the ETV up to 100 mph twice and it never had any issues. No squeaks, rattles, shudders, or anything that would indicate a design conflict in high wind. To be quite honest, the ETV rides better than most factory vehicles at high speed thanks to the added weight and downforce created by an asphalt hugging stance.
I get to ride in and cover a lot of exotic, custom vehicles. This creation by Mike Vetter is now at the top of my list! I have never seen such a perfect fully customized vehicle. Typically, a custom job of this proportion leaves much to be desired; not the case here! I tried to find flaws the entire time I was with him, and after an hour of scrupulous investigation I am delighted to say there is absolutely nothing other than perfection built into the Extra Terrestrial vehicle.
