Florida man is swallowed by a giant sink hole as he slept in his bed (Video)

Around 11p.m. EST time Thursday, a 30-foot wide sinkhole swallowed Jeffrey Bush, 37, as he slept in his Florida bedroom. The house located in Seffner, Fla., which is near Tampa, Fla., collapsed under the bedroom that the victim was sleeping in.

Bush's brother Jeremy Bush rushed into the room after hearing him scream for help only to find everything gone. He had to be rescued by a Hillsborough deputy after trying to locate his brother.

"'It swallowed his whole bedroom, his dresser -- everything in his room is gone,' a distraught Jeremy said. 'All I could see was the tops of his bed,' he said. 'So I jumped in the hole and tried digging him out. I thought I could hear him screaming for me and hollering for me, but they couldn't do nothing," reported USA TODAY.

Although sinkholes are pretty common in Florida, they usually give you time to react. This one collapsed very quickly and took the victims by total surprise. Although the sink hole was approximately 30 feet across at the surface, it stretched to approximately 100 feet across underground with a depth of 60 feet.

“Deputy Douglas Duvall said 'the sinkhole was taking the whole bedroom' when he arrived and saw Jeffrey down in the hole struggling to find his brother. 'I reached him and actually got him by his hand and pulled him out of the hole,' Duvall told WTSP. 'The hole was collapsing.'” (USA TODAY)

An aunt to the victim was in the house when the tragedy happened and heard all the massive noises and screams but could do nothing.

The house has been condemned, and Bush is being presumed dead. Both houses on either side were also evacuated so that authorities could assess the situation.

Our prayers go out to this family and the victim as we pray for a miracle of God that he is somehow alive and rescued.
