According to a Aug. 23 Jacksonville Sheriff’s office press release, 29-year-old James Patrick Tadros was found with a 9-year-old girl in the stall of a women’s restroom of a Best Buy store located on Southside Blvd Friday afternoon. Witnesses told police that they heard “screaming and crying” coming from inside the stall and asked if the people needed help.
Witnesses then looked under the stall and saw Tadros holding the 9-year-old girl’s head in the toilet.
Startled by the witnesses,Tadros then let the girl go. She escaped by crawling under the stall wall and into another stall.
Store employees managed to detain Tadros until police arrived. The report further states that there was blood all over the bathroom stall.
When asked about her relationship to the suspect, the little girl told police she didn’t know him. She told police that he punched and kicked her, then placed a plastic bag over her head and stuck her head in the toilet.
The little girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment and Tadros was taken for questioning at a local police station, which he reportedly damaged during the interview.
Tadros was booked and charged with Attempted Murder, False Imprisonment and Criminal Mischief. He is being held with no bond.
