The incident took place Aug. 9, 2014 inside a room at a Motel 6. Hamilton was left in charge of Tiffany Williams' two children, ages six and one, while she went to work leaving at around 11 a.m. At 8:20 p.m. Hamilton called 911 stating that the one-year-old, Sincere Williams, was having difficulty breathing. When paramedics arrived the boy was struggling to breathe and had turned blue, but was still alive. Unfortunately the infant died at St. Joseph's Hospital shortly after arriving.
Hamilton originally told investigators at the crime scene that he, according to wfla.com, "did not hit or punish the victim in anyway and that the victim was not involved in any accidents that would have caused his death."
After the preliminary report was released by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office which said Sincere Williams died 'as a result of blunt force trauma to the lower abdomen' Hamilton confessed that he had lied and that he beat the child viciously. When asked by detectives what prompted the beating Hamilton claimed that while changing the child's diaper the child urinated on him and that he 'lost control', striking the defenseless one-year-old at least a dozen times with a leather belt all over his body. During the beating Hamilton claims that the child fell and struck his head on the motel room floor.
In 2012 Hamilton was twice arrested for domestic violence.
