A Florida man, out of jail on bond for a cocaine possession arrest, has been arrested with animal cruelty in connection with the torture and death of a duck according to a report posted yesterday on the Local10.com website. Van Hoang of Fort Lauderdale was changed in connection with the case.

The police report claims that witnesses reported seeing the duck's legs tied, and the duck quacking and struggling in the car for an hour. It states that the suspect:

"intentionally tied a duck up causing unnecessary pain and suffering and eventual death."

The dead body of the duck was found beside a dumpster near the car.

The judge in the case, Judge John Hurley, said in the hearing:

"The court would submit that if you tie up an injured animal and leave the animal in the car for an hour flapping around like that, that's probably unnecessary pain and suffering to that animal."

Hurley ordered Van held without bond.
