A couple's elderly dog is dead after becoming the innocent victim of a violent domestic dispute in Hudson, Fla.
According to Tuesday's WTSP News, David Crivelli is accused of assaulting his live-in girlfriend during a heated argument.
The victimized woman told the police that Crivelli hit her multiple times in the face, and then turned his anger on their 17-year-old dog, a Jack Russell terrier.
The dog, likely distraught because of the violent argument, was barking.
According to the girlfriend, Crivelli utilized a champagne bottle as a weapon, beating the small dog repeatedly, until the dog died.
Before the authorities arrived, the man had stuffed the dog's body into a pillowcase and buried him in the yard.
The woman, who was not named, suffered a black eye and split lip in the altercation. Crivelli was arrested and charged with domestic battering and cruelty to animals.
