According to Monday's My Fox Tampa Bay, a Sarasota, Fla., man is accused of dousing a puppy, who was in the midst of a seizure, with hot sauce.

Early Sunday morning, 47-year-old Ephrian Myles is accused of becoming upset with the three-month-old pup, named "Gizmo," who was having seizure, and yelping.

Myles' girlfriend, Kelly Ripley, told the authorities that the cruel act took place because the pup's cries were "annoying" Myles.

Ripley was able to whisk the Dachshund mix pup out of the home - she called the police and went to a local fire department for assistance.

Officers Jessica Sullivan had been called to meet Ripley at the fire station; she described what she saw:

"It couldn't open its eyes,

One eyes was completely swollen shut and the other was barely open."

Adding:

"I picked it up, looked at it, brought it to my face, and I could smell the pepper and the vinegar. I looked at [Officer Arena] and was like, this dog has hot sauce on it,"

Though the hot sauce covered little Gizmo's face and body, he is expected to make a full recovery.

According to the Bradenton Herald, the pup was turned over to the animal services and Myles was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated animal cruelty.
