Florida Libertarian chair puts weight behind Gary Johnson

Libertarian Party of Florida Chairman Adrian Wyllie announced late last night he is endorsing Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson to be the Libertarian Party's nominee in 2012. Florida has the third largest population of Libertarians in the nation so it is a powerhouse within the national Party. After wrapping up the Libertarian Party of Florida's 2012 State Convention in Orlando this past weekend and seeing the Libertarian Party's candidates for President debate, Wyllie issued the following statement late last night:

"I have recently had the opportunity to meet and speak with several of the Libertarian Presidential candidates one-on-one.  Some I have been fortunate to spend time with and I have the privilege to call friends.  I have a high degree of respect for each of them.  I'd like to share my thoughts on some of these great men.

"Lee Wrights is a man who I feel embodies the soul of the Libertarian Party.  He delivers the message in a way that appeals to everyone, and he does so with a passion and plain-spoken truth that warms the heart.   He is truly an asset to the party, and a great voice for the cause of freedom and peace.   I sincerely hope that Lee remains at the forefront of the LP for a very long time.

"Bill Still is a brilliant economist who truly understands the nuances of the events that have lead us to the brink of economic collapse.  Though I don't necessarily agree with every detail of his economic policy, his ideas are always thought provoking, and his sincerity is above question.   His advice should be openly welcomed in any Libertarian administration.

"Leroy Saunders is a man who I've just recently come to know.   His ideas are filled with passion, but perhaps a bit rough around the edges.   With time and reflection, he could become a rising star in the Libertarian Party, and I welcome his involvement.

"R.J. Harris presents the Libertarian message in a clear, refined manner that is refreshingly direct.  He's garnered the support of people whose opinions I highly respect, and it's easy to see why.   I believe he is destined to help restore our Constitutional Republic as a Libertarian member of Congress.

"Carl Person's record is impressive by any measure.  His work as an antitrust attorney and one of the founders of the paralegal industry are beyond noteworthy.   He understands that competition is the driving force behind all human achievement, and has fought for that truth throughout his career.

"Gov. Gary Johnson is the Libertarian Party's best hope for the White House in 2012.  I've had the opportunity to spend time with him over the past few months, and I am confident that he will champion the LP Platform as our nominee.  He is an honest, intelligent, determined, and humble man who is unwavering in his values.  His track record as two-term governor of New Mexico is outstanding, and he has proven that he will govern as a Libertarian.  There is no doubt in my mind that, as the LP nominee, Gary will advance our message, set new voting records, and perhaps even win the Presidency.

"Therefore, I am endorsing Gov. Gary Johnson for the Libertarian Party Presidential nominee.   I urge you to do the same."
