The Florida Legislature opens on March 5. Working people might be interested in some of the topics likely to come up for discussion. Gov. Rick Scott wants to offer tax breaks to companies that show they can create more jobs. This should be an interesting discussion.
The Legislature may pass a law that would offer health coverage to close to 9,000 temporary state workers in response to Obamacare. And look for discussion on Gov. Scott's proposal to give all Florida K-12 teachers a $2,500 pay raise.
"I think all working people should receive health coverage. Obamacare is the law," said Richard Helveson a Miami resident.
"I think teachers deserve a pay raise. Teachers provide a valuable service to Florida's young people," said Heather McMillan, a Miami teacher.
