Florida Humane Lobby Day- Tallahassee 2013

March 26, 2013 is Humane Lobby Day in Florida's capital city, Tallahassee. The meeting with legislators will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Capitol Complex, Challenger Learning Center, 200 S. Duval Street.

The Humane Society of the United States, ASPCA, and Grey2K USA will be discussing state-level animal protection/topic bills that are chosen by the weight of their impact or likelihood of passage. Anyone is invited and attendance should not be based on whether or not a person supports these groups monetarily or agrees with all of their beliefs.

An RSVP is required since citizens will be meeting face to face with lawmakers or key staff; this ensures that everyone in attendance will be briefed and prepared. Inviting friends, family and other animal advocates is welcomed.

RSVP or learn how to help if attendance is not possible.

Government and citizens work together to end animal cruelty:

Baltimore's Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake started an Anti-Abuse Task Force after Travers and Tremayne Johnson were arrested for lighting an American Pit Bull Terrier on fire. Afterwards, in connection, Show Your Soft Side Campaign was born and has now included many NFL players, musicians and Mixed Martial Arts competitors fighting to end animal cruelty.
