Florida holidays 2013: UCF lights up for the holidays in Orlando

Back again for the sixth year, the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando is presenting Light Up UCF “50 Nights of Music, Lights and Ice.” The family oriented event includes an 8,000 sq. ft. outdoor ice skating rink; carnival-style rides including a Ferris Wheel, Santa Train and Blizzard Ride; the Arctic Glide Ice Slide (presented by Orlando Sanford International Airport); have your picture taken with Santa at Santa's Workshop at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore (presented by Coca-Cola); a holiday film festival on two giant screens showing nightly under the stars at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. (presented by SeaWorld); the Holiday Light Show of thousands of colored lights choreographed to seasonal music spun by a live DJ; and a first this year - snow.

Tickets are available at the CFE Arena box office and online. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. Save on Ice Skating ($9/ticket) and Ultimate Ride Package ($17/ticket).

Bring out the family for a night of fun. Hours are from 5:00-10:00 p.m. nightly.
