A report from the Florida Highway Patrol is casting doubt over a story that Woods flew to Arizona for plastic surgery as soon as he was released from the hospital on the day his car accident. The report said that Woods’ facial injuries were more severe than expected so he had to stay in Arizona for a longer period of time than had been anticipated.
TMZ.com and WESH-TV are reporting that Woods met with the Florida Highway Patrol three days after the November 27 crash. He met with the troopers at an undisclosed location to get his traffic ticket. Officers observed that he had a “fat lip” and no other injuries. The officers added that his appearance gave them no reason to believe he was the victim of domestic violence.
The Florida Highway Patrol casts doubt on an account from veteran sportswriter and former Atlanta Journal Constitution sports editor, Furman Bisher.
Bisher detailed what his source says really happened on the night of Woods' infamous car accident outside his home. He writes that Woods' wife slugged him with a golf club after she confronted him over his Thanksgiving Day text messages to his first alleged mistress, Rachel Uchitel. Woods ran out of the house and took off in his car but she followed him with the club. He crashed and his facial injuries from the golf club attack were so severe that he flew to Arizona to be treated by a plastic surgeon. Click for more and for a link to Bisher's blog.
Bisher's account is incongruent with the latest reports from the highway patrol. The Orlando Sentinel noted that the story is "full of holes." The paper explained that neighbors did not describe the injuries on Woods that were noted in Bisher's story which has circulated in e-mails through the Internet. Although it is possible Bisher may have been forwarded the e-mail from a source and didn't know it was a viral e-mail. Woods' agent Mark Steinberg told E! Online "This is just another patently false rumor being circulated."
In a new post, Bisher wrote that he intended what he wrote on his blog for a small group of friends and that "if you are among those offended, then stay off my website. It's for friends only." Bisher noted that his Web site got over 43,000 hits as a result of the story.

Comments
I think that the letter posted by Furman Bisher is a publicity stunt created by Tiger's team to present him as a victim and as a way to explain his disappearance since the scandal broke up. They are trying to protect the "Tiger brand" at all cost after the media is reporting that Tiger's stocks are down everywhere. The paramedics and the neighbors stated that Tiger had a bloody lip, not the injuries of the magnitude reported on Mr. Bisher's letter. Tigers team is trying to set the way for Tigers comeback in 2010 as a victim, not as the offender he is, but the public will not buy it! Tiger has disgraced himself as a husband and as a father.
The true victims on all this are: Elin Nordegren and her two small children. I hope that someday Elin Nordegren will find a good and decent man that will respect and love her and the children. A man that could be a better father figure and role model to the children than Tiger Woods
thanks for the update Ed
