Florida Gulf Coast fan gets 'Dunk City" tattoo

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament is always exciting for basketball fans. There are the teams that almost regularly make a good showing such as Duke, Kansas, and North Carolina (sadly last years winner and fellow powerhouse the University of Kentucky had a struggling season this year and did not make the tournament). Then there are the teams that seem to come out of nowhere to become tournament regulars; teams such as Villanova and Gonzaga.

This season's dark horse is a small college in Fort Meyers, Florida known as Florida Gulf Coast. The Eagles came out of nowhere as a 15 seed and upset 2 seed Georgetown. Their Cinderella dream will see them competing in the Sweet Sixteen, and it remains to be seen how much farther this team will go.

The team has captured the hears of their hometown, and one Fort Meyers radio station, WXKB-FM tweeted what may be the first fan tattoo. The tattoo shows a basketball with Eagles scrawled across with the teams logo. It also has underneath the unofficial nickname "Dunk City".

As the team continues to impress fans, it remains to be seen what other fan tributes will be coming in the following days. One thing is for certain, win or lose Florida Gulf Coast University will be on fans and NBA recruiters watch list in the coming years.
