Florida family LSD meat: 4 people sickened by meat laced with LSD

A Florida family fell ill after eating LSD meat -- that is, the meat they consumed was laced with the hallucinogenic drug. On March 7, ABC News reported that Jessica Rosado, 31, was nine months pregnant when she consumed the LSD meat -- her doctors induced her and her baby was born healthy. Her boyfriend and his two children also consumed the meat and got had reactions.

"[The family] started experiencing hallucinations. [They] received tracheal intubation and have since been released from the hospital," reports ABC News. So where did this meat come from and why was it laced with LSD?

The Florida family's LSD meat was purchased at a Walmart store according to police. The meat was a Ribeye steak that was prepackaged before it arrived at the store according to the company. Walmart says that their employees don't handle the meat. Interestingly enough, no other reports came in of people falling ill after eating meat purchased from Walmart -- which leads investigators to believe that however this happened, only a couple of steaks were affected.

"It is still under investigation how the drug ended up in the family’s meal. At this point, it is not clear if a crime has occurred," said Tampa Police in a statement.

The Florida family is okay after the LSD meat incident. The federal and state departments of agriculture are working with the health department and the Tampa police to solve this mystery.
