Supporters of the Equal Rights Amendment in Florida are being asked to call Representative Eddie Gonzalez, the Chair of Local and Federal Affairs Committee, and voice support for House Bill 8001 which supports equal rights for both male and female citizens. Gonzalez makes the final decision on which Bills will or will not be heard in March.
HB 8001 has been up for a hearing for 13 consecutive years without ever being heard. Supporters of the Bill feel it is time it receives a fair hearing. Florida citizens are asked to call Representative Gonzalez' office at 305.364.3066 to voice support for House Bill 8001 and request that it finally get a fair hearing.
Only three states are needed for the Equal Rights Amendment to be ratified and Florida is one of them.
