Florida employers plan fewer job cuts

Florida employers have announced fewer job cuts. In Florida, there were only 354 job cuts announced in December. Last year there were 2,302 jobs cuts, according to the outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas in an article by Marcia Heroux Pounds in the January 4 Sun Sentinel.

"This is good. I am glad more people are working. It is good that companies are not reducing staff," said Monica Bolles, a Miami resident who works as a waitress.

"It is great for the economy that more people are back in the workforce," said Richard Anson, a Miami resident who works in the construction industry.
