A Florida couple reports watching a silent, "luminous and shimmering flying object" slowly gliding through the air 30 yards ahead of them and 40 feet in the air at 10 p.m. on October 3, 2010, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
"The object was completely silent and had a slight bend to it looking like a fingernail sliver or the moon in an extremely thin waning gibbous," the reporting witness stated.
"The object appeared to be anywhere from 10 to 20 feet long. The object was traveling we estimated around 15 to 20 mph. And it flew very smoothly gliding effortlessly through the air. The object was gliding straight past us and then made a twenty degree turn."
The object was last seen heading west towards Tampa.
The witness stated that the object seemed like something out of a Star Trek episode.
"As outlandish as this sounds the object's luminous/shimmering appearance seemed to resemble a 'cloaked starship' in Star Trek or the cloaked Predators in the Predator movies. It did not have the herky jerky flying motion of a bird or the loud sounds a plane or other recognizable flying craft would make. Seeing this defied all logical explanation to my wife and I."

FL, October 3, 2010 - Odd UFO Sighting in Brandon, Florida. MUFON Case # 25672.
At 10:00pm Eastern Standard Time myself and my wife and were walking our two dogs on our favorite walking trail on Brandon Parkway in Brandon, Florida. As we were walking by a pond on this trail we heard a splash which startled us as Alligators are known to eat dogs, so we are always on guard when walking our dogs near water. The noise wasn't an Alligator but only a crane landing in the pond.
This scare caused my wife to look up to the right of us which caused her to notice something in the sky. She then asked if i saw what was in the sky. I then looked up and didn't see what she was talking about at first but shortly afterwards I noticed it too.
About 30 yards in front of us and 40 feet up in the air was a luminous/shimmering flying object that appeared to be slowly gliding through the air. At first I believed the object was a giant unknown bird however it had no features a bird would have and got more unrecognizable as I stared at it.
The object was completely silent and had a slight bend to it looking like a fingernail sliver or the moon in an extremely thin waning gibbous. The object appeared to be anywhere from 10 to 20 feet long. The object was traveling we estimated around 15 to 20 mph. And it flew very smoothly gliding effortlessly through the air. We slowly watched the object in awe as it slowly flew out of our sight. My wife and I watched the object fly past us in amazement and confusion. The entire sighting lasted from 30 seconds to 1 minute until the craft disappeared from view. At the time we lost sight of the object it was heading West towards Tampa.

It has now been 2 hours since the sighting and I am in awe thinking of what it could have been. I'm reporting this hoping that somebody else out there in Hillsborough County, the Tampa/St. Pete Area or anywhere tonight saw this obeject. If anyone else saw this please report it

seriously, that word is not in my dic..so let me just get an update dic..in the meantime yea, it is really amazing to see that and not have others around you to testify "yes, i saw it too", I see that we are noticing more and more spaceships up there, and still our goverment does not acknowlege it.

I saw the exact thing you describe last night (10/4)
at 10:20 pm. I live in the NW area of Tampa. It was like it was basically invisible, but I could see light reflecting off the leading edge of it. Incredible. Absolutely silent.
On 11/8/10, our family here in Tampa had seen the very same thing coming out of the east and heading south, as we were outside on the back porch. i have been searching endlessly to find others who have seen it also. Its a great feeling to know that we are not alone in both aspects actually...don't know what it was. it surely was not any craft we are familiar with, it glowed, it vibrated and pulsated with lights. some say USF has a weather balloon that is illuminated for the planes..and it is said that is what we seen..i cant say yes or no to that..all things are possible. in my opinion it just didn't fit the bill to the USF explanation..but then again i REALLY don't know.
Saw 8 bright lights flying over St. Pete beach on 10-10-10 around 10pm. They slowly floated up over St Pete and then shot off towards the ocean.
I saw this flying over my house also. I could hear a very faint electric sound,kinda like a vibration in the air. No way this could be man made.
My significant other and I just saw the same exact thing flying/gliding over Mesa, Arizona -- absolutely no joke. We decided to search online and found this article, and wow, we described it to each other before searching nearly EXACTLY like the couple in Florida -- like a "cloaking device" from Star Trek or Predator. What the heck are those things doing? I'm guessing government project rather than alien invasion, but for what purpose...??
My husband was the one who originally reported this a year ago. I just saw a very similar object in the sky tonight. It is so difficult to explain, but I agree that it is nearly invisible to see. We were walking our dogs again but due to a street light it quickly disappeared from view before my husband was able to see it. Last time it seemed like a giant floating 2x4 tonight it had a bracket } shape to it, like a gliding bird would. If it were a bird the wing span would be near 20-25 feet. I really think it has to be something the base is running. Again the object was completely silent and seemed to just glide/float through the air.
Last year on the night of the "super moon" My friend Luis and I were on the roof of my loft in downtown Port Chester NY. While observing the bright moon, Luis says "What is that?"
High above the buildings a strange large bird glides toward us, absolutely silent with motionless wings. Birds don't fly 10:30 at night. Though it moves like one, that is decidedly NOT a bird. Is it an object? It is translucent, seems to have some bird like hash marks but with no discernible solidity, just a long wing with an amorphic, slightly iridescent quality. Luis said it reminded him of jellyfish. To me it was evocative of the iridescent underbelly of a fish. It's hard to see in a way that makes me feel it INTENDS to. Almost "cloaked" like in the Predator movies, more of an transparent outline than an opaque form. Gliding slightly above and parallel to us on a rigid course without deviation in altitude, my mind franticly tries unsuccessfully to come up with some frame of reference. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THIS IS!
And then... it starts to quickly fade and BECOMES COMPLETELY INVISIBLE!
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!!!" I yell. The last thing my analytical-cognitive brain functions say to me before they opt out is, "You are only supposed to be seeing such things downstairs on the Sci-fi channel".
Any hypothesis? I didn't feel it was extra-terestrial in origin as it was employing conventional glider aerodynamics, but invisibility? Possible theoretically but way beyond even military technology.
