2011 was the year when we finally received a second serving of Florence + The Machine in the form of sophomore album Ceremonials. The haunting and eclectic album has yet to give the band another top 40 hit in the US, but since its #6 peak when it debuted last fall, it has been able to sell close to 500,000 copies, which is pretty healthy in the music market of today. Especially considering that it debuted with roughly 105,000 and that its predecessor, the critically acclaimed Lungs, has sold close to a million copies in the US since its 2009 release.
How time flies.
Florence Welch surely has much more success to anticipate. After six top 40 entries in the UK Singles Chart and a handful of shows in 2011, the band has recently added three legs to their Ceremonials Tour. The band is set to perform in the US in April and May, then they move to Oceania, finally ending in Europe where they will play for the third time during this tour.
