This evening March 31, 2011 at the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology in Florence, South Carolina an event to benefit the Florence District One School Foundation will begin at 6:30pm. The event has been a complete sell out and is expected to be a fun and exciting evening.
The Florence Symphony Orchestra will provide the music for the Florence Dancing With The Stars benefit. Some of the dance styles to be presented are the Salsa, Jive, Swing, Cha-Cha and Tango. There will be Heavy Hors D’oeuvres and an open bar for this sparkling event. Professional dancing stars from the Florence area have been paired with members of the Florence community. Among the community dancers will be Sherriff Kenney Boone, First Lady Laura Wukela and Octavia Williams-Blake a Florence City Council member.
The School Foundation was established to bring together the Association of Parents and Teachers (APT) and School Improvement Councils (SIC) in each of the district’s 23 schools. Networking and developing stronger ties among parent leaders serving on the council creates a broader area of communication with parent leaders within the district. Mrs. Debbie Hyler is the current Executive Director of the School Foundation.
