The Florence-Lauderdale Public Library and Pillar of Fire will celebrate the holiday season with a free presentation of the 1951 film adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic tale, “A Christmas Carol,” on Thursday, December 15, at 7 p.m.
Also known as “Scrooge,” the 1951 version of the Christmas classic stars Alastair Sim, Mervyn Johns, and Hermione Baddeley under the direction of Brian Desmond Hurst. Many fans laud this adaptation as the best of the many film and television versions that have been released over the years.
The Florence-Lauderdale Public Library is located at 350 N. Wood Ave. in downtown Florence, about 65 miles from Huntsville. For more information, call 256-764-6564 or visit the library’s website.
