Flor de Caña Rum sponsors Lilly Pulitzer Summer Thursday for Ovarian Cancer Research Fund

Brian Miller, head bartender at Death & Company, created The Seersucker cocktail as a nod toward summer fun and fashion flair. This simple cocktail plays on summer’s quenching lemonade feel with the invigorating surprise of cinnamon bark syrup engaging the senses in the background. The entire cocktail splashed over ice with fresh strawberries of the summer season creates the perfect refreshing summer treat. It also creates the ideal starter cocktail for an event to raise awareness for ovarian cancer. 

 

Lilly Pulitzer Summer Thursday event sponsored by Flor de Caña Rum came off with a huge success in party by centering around Brian Miller’s popular cocktail, The Seersucker. Lilly Pulitzer dressed the store’s mannequins in seersucker blazers and outfitted Brian in festive seersucker tie to complement his specialty drink. Guests of Flor de Caña Rum and Lilly Pulitzer shopped and sipped for a cause while a portion of sales benefitted the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. This event took place July 16 at the Lilly Pulitzer flagship store at 1020 Madison Avenue.

 

2 ounces Flor de Caña Rum

1/2 ounce cinnamon bark syrup

1 ounce lemon juice

1-1/2 strawberry

 

Muddle one strawberry, shake ingredients with three ice cubes and strain into a pilsner glass with crushed ice. Garnish with 1/2 strawberry.
