Zoo America at Hershey Park have advised they have moved 25 animals as a result of the flooding. The rain there has started to slow but the damage is already done. Many areas of the park and zoo have sustained some damage as a result of the rain.
Areas around Central Pennsylvania have experienced rainfail amounts between 10-12 inches within a 48 hour period of time.
Spring Creek, which runs through Hershey Park has exceeded it's bank. Some of the lower areas of park, such as the picnic area near Skyrush and other games and rides in the section of the park called "The Hollow". Zoo America and Hershey Park have learned from the hurricane that moved through the area in 2011. They have implemented a weather emergency plan. Many workers began prepping to move the animals overnight. The zoo was prepared this time!
