Flitting about the Fireland Faerie Festival

A little bit of magic was in the air the weekend of November 19 and 20, 2011 as faeries gathered together to celebrate the 5th Annual Fireland Faerie Festival at the Estrella Mountain Regional Park in Goodyear, Arizona.  It was a magical place where legendary creatures of myths and magic became flesh and imaginations soared.

There was entertainment for all faeries—young and old.  Entire families joined together to hear musical groups such as the foot tapping "Traveler", and be mesmerized by dance troupes like the enchanting "Anaya Tribal and Divine Chaos Skirt Dancers", a "Strange Family Circus" and much more.

Several craft makers set up booths among the trees to sell their wares.  Faerie folk shopped for items such as fairy wings, jewelry, pottery, woodcarvings, and other fine items a good (or bad) faerie might need. A dance from 7pm to 9:30pm highlighted Saturday's festivities.

The two day event brought in hundreds of visitors to the enchanted faerie forest with 80 percent of the revelers dressed in costume.  Guests wore their best faerie finery and joined together to celebrate with music and dance, and food and fun in the fantasy themed location under the shady trees of a mythical woodland.  Goblins, trolls, witches and ogres were also in attendance at the hauntingly magical event.
