Ready…set…dodgeball. Call it a spoof, a satire or screwball summer comedy but this Ben Stiller/Vince Vaughn collaboration was a major success. It also remains a popular choice on cable channels for weekend viewing and always a great diversion from doing actual work or actually going outside.

- The movie had an alternate ending on the DVD in which the main characters don’t get a happy ending and it’s been debated if that was ever really seriously considered to wrap the film or if it was just a prank for the home entertainment release.

-Studios such as DreamWorks and MGM passed on the movie and it was only after star Ben Stiller took a radically reduced salary did the movie get greenlit.

-The original title was “Underdog.”
