I'm convinced that some people, in their unbelief, are damming themselves to spend eternity in hell. Unbelief will never invalidate the eternal Word of God. In fact the Bible clearly sees the day we live in clearly.
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
This could have been written about today, but there is no doubt that it is as current as it was then if you read it carefully. In looking at God's miraculous creation there are those who will not accept the empirical truth that one day they are going to have to stand before God and explain how they led so many down the wrong path.
For example, Charles Darwin, who popularized the modern theory of evolution, said: "I have never been an atheist in the sense of denying the existence of a God. I think that generally (and more and more so as I grow older) but not always that an agnostic would be the most correct description of my state of mind." (Ft. Wayne Journal-Gazette, 1/4/82)
The Humanist Manifestos say: "Religious humanists regard the universe as self-existing and not created ... Humanism believes that man is a part of nature and that he has emerged as the result of a continuous process ... Many kinds of humanism exist [including] ... atheism, agnosticism, skepticism, ... and liberal religion ... We find insufficient evidence for belief in the existence of a supernatural ... As non-theists, we begin with humans not God, nature not deity ... science affirms that the human species is an emergence from natural evolutionary forces" - pp. 8,16,17.
Now let’s review what a jealous God says to those who deny his creation. Romans 1:18-32: “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of men who by their wickedness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made.
So they are without excuse; for although they knew God they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man or birds or animals or reptiles.
Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever! Amen.
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural, and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error.
And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a base mind and to improper conduct. They were filled with all manner of wickedness, evil, covetousness, malice. Full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity, they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s decree that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do them but approve those who practice them.”
By one estimate, 52 percent of Americans find homosexuality an acceptable lifestyle. The Williams Institute at UCLA finds there are more than 8 million adults in the US who are lesbian, gay, or bisexual, comprising 3.5% of the adult population. There are also nearly 700,000 transgender individuals in the US. In total, the study suggests that approximately 9 million Americans – roughly the population of New Jersey – identify as LGBT.
If you allegorize the Bible away, I believe the more tolerant you’re going to be towards deviant lifestyles. However, if you believe the Bible is the Word of God and He says what He means and means what He says, God calls the homosexual lifestyle a curse and sinful. Did Jesus Christ die to cover the sin of a homosexual. You bet He did. But Jesus Christ can and will deliver a homosexual from living that sinful lifestyle as well.
