Finger Lakes Distilling came to be, due to a series of coincidences. Unrelated acquaintances Brian McKenzie and Thomas Earl McKenzie met at a craft distiller's conference and the rest is well, history.
Finger Lakes Distilling is a NYS Farm Distillery. This indicates that they are a small operation, who are involved in creating handcrafted product. Their vodkas and liqueurs are made by soaking fruits in the spirit. Traditionally. No extracts or synthetic flavorings are added to the mix.
This brings us to the Cherry Liqueur (48 proof) which, we have just sampled. Much to our shock, it is somewhat bland. We love this! We love this because this should make for an excellent mixer. We can sip it neat and we are for the moment. But, we can just imagine it in combination with cream or creme de menthe. Yummy.
We have never tried cherry liqueur before and while it is the norm to have one's liqueur after dinner, forget that. We like the sweetness and will have it, as we please. Thanks so much.

These fruit-based liqueurs are all made in the same traditional manner, by soaking the fruit in a neutral spirit, then sweetening to taste. All our liqueurs are natural with no artificial flavors, and remain very true to the character of the fruit. Sip these neat, pour them over ice cream, or mix them in an elegant cocktail or champagne.
The 375 ml bottle retails for $19.00 and can be purchased from the Finger Lakes Distilling web site (see Vital Links).
