I am biased. Flavor Cupcakery has the best cupcakes I have ever eaten. I loved them so much they made cupcakes for my daughter's 1st birthday. Friends at the party even commented how much better they thought they were than DC Cupcakes- Georgetown Cupcakes!
So it was no surprise that Flavor Cupcakery was selected to participate in the Food Network's Cupcake Wars. It was not surprise that they won the very popular Christmas competition show!
The episode premiered on December 4, 2011 and the entire food world was introduced to the amazing quality, taste and creativity of Flavor Cupcakery. The competition was based around the Nutcracker theme - a holiday favorite. Four talented bakers all came together to compete at the cupcake wars.
The prize was the winning bakers would have their cupcakes on display and for tasting at the opening night party for the New York City Ballet's performance of The Nutcracker.
Bel Air, Maryland's Flavor Cupcakery was the last team standing and they were selected to display their cupcakes at the opening night party! Better news is that the cupcakery will offer their winning cupcake selections this week at their cupcakery across the street from the Harford Mall on North Tollgate Road! (118 North Tollgate Road)
"Hello Bel Air!! Thanks for encouraging us to audition for the show and for rooting for us all the way. Jason and I had such an amazing experience bringing our cupcakes, and our town, to the big screen and we thank all of you!!! We'll be making all of our winning flavors in the shop this week, so come on in and let us know what you think!!" -- From the Facebook page of Flavor Cupcakery
Shelley Stannard is the owner of Flavor Cupcakery. Her pastry chef is Jason Hisley. They competed and also won $10,000 for the business.
The episode is scheduled for heavy rotation during this holiday season, so don't be upset if you missed the episode's premiere. The episode will be re-aired tomorrow, December 6, 2011 at 8 p.m. on the Food Network.
