In 1983 the movie Flashdance became a worldwide hit and a pop culture phenomenon. The movie that defined a generation has been adapted into a musical and the tour is stopping at the Majestic Theatre in June.
Flashdance-The Musical tells the story of Alex Owens, a working-class girl from Pittsburgh who dreams of becoming a professional dancer. By day she works as a steel mill welder and by night she’s a bar dancer with hopes of attending the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy. When she becomes romantically involved with her boss Nick Hurley she learns the meaning of love and develops the drive to go after her dream.
