Flashdance gets zombie fever

When you think of Flashdance, images of Jennifer Beals most likely pass through your mind from her role as Alex Owens. If you take the woman with two jobs, welder and exotic dancer, who wants to get into ballet school and add zombies, what do you get? Throw Flashdance on stage, add in undead cannibals, and you’re left with Slashdance.

Slashdance opens at the Off Center Theatre on the third level of Crown Center March 7, 2013. Running for seventeen days, the show is still casting and you can get in on the action here. Submissions must be received by midnight Jan. 31, and the Coterie will reply by the following Monday.

If you’ve ever thought seeing a female that is “welder by day, dancer by night” fight off a group of “virus-infected human cannibals”, this is the stage show for you. According to the shows homepage, Alexis Bowens finds that “Killing cannibalistic hoards is even better for her abs than Pilates.”

Tickets are available for purchase at 816-474-6552 or click here. At the time of this posting, their website was down, but they’re working to get it fixed.
