On a hot summer day there’s nothing like an ice cold lemonade to cool you down. Being that it’s Friday you can kick it up a notch. Keeping in line with with today’s trending #fbf you can pour yourself an 80’s favorite and kick off your weekend with an Electric Lemonade.
This tangy and vibrantly colored cocktail is easy to make and even easier to drink. The Electric Lemonade was always a favorite 80’s summer drink whether it was lounging poolside or sippin’ it at someone’s backyard barbeque. Potently delicious it’s sure to bring back memories.
- 1 1/4 ounces vodka
- 1/2 ounce Blue Curaçao
- 2 ounces sweet and sour mix
- 7-up or Sprite
Pour ingredients into a tall glass filled with ice. Top with 7-up or Sprite. Garnish with a squeeze of lemon. *Vodka can be substituted with other flavors. Using any of the Bacardi rum flavors will also give it a nice twist.
And it definitely wouldn’t be a #fbf without some 80’s music. Few bands were able to survive the 90’s grunge transition, a movement that basically killed most 80’s bands. Decades later some of these bands are making a comeback. Even better, some of them are touring. Former 80’s kids are dragging their offspring to summer concerts like KISS, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and of course Survivor.
If you’re a former 80’s kid and live in Los Angeles you can catch Survivor’s only California performance at Pershing Square on August 2nd. Show starts at 7:30 and is FREE. So bring the kids and indulge them in 80’s anthems like Eye of the Tiger and Burning Heart as well as other popular hits like Rebel Girl, Can’t Hold Back, The Search is Over, High on You and Is This Love.
There’s a Beer & Wine Garden for those who are of age. Parking is the sole responsibility of the concert goer but fortunately the LA Metro takes you directly to Pershing Square where the concert is a quick walk away.
