
Heavy rain falls across Northern & portions of Central MS-Monday morning

Widespread persistent heavy rainfall continues across portions of Central and Northern Mississippi, along and ahead of an advancing warm front, with rainfall rates of one half to one and one half inches per hour.
This has led to street flooding with some areas receiving 2 to over 3 inches of rainfall so far and the rain continues.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for portions of Western and North Central Mississippi, including the cities of Vicksburg, Greenville, Greenwood, and Columbus until 4 pm.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible.
Flash Flood Warnings are effect until 1245 pm across Leflore, Washington, Southeastern Bolivar, and Sunflower Counties, including the city of Greenville, Cleveland, Greenwood, Indianola, Drew, Shaw, and Itta Bena Counties.

The rains will become more scattered by evening, limiting the threat for flash flooding.

Attala, Bolivar, Carroll, Choctaw, Clay, Grenada, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Leflore, Lowndes, Montgomery, Oktibbeha, Sharkey, Sunflower, Washington, Webster, Yazoo
This very wet weather pattern along with the flash flood threat will continue through Thursday, with several more rounds of rainfall likely.
Grounds are very saturated, especially across portions of Central and Northern Mississippi, where some areas have surpassed 20 inches of rainfall since September 6th.
