Flash fiction contest sponsored by Chicago Public Library, The Chicagoan

The City of Chicago is putting its considerable weight behind a flash fiction writing contest inspired by Saul Bellow's The Adventures of Augie March. Nothing in the 600-page epic bildungsroman suggests brevity but the CPL encourages us to "submit their short version of their 'I am American, Chicago born' in 750 words or less." Augie March
is the Fall 2011 One Book, One Chicago selection.
