For a night of laughs, Flappers certainly does the trick. Located in Burbank and Claremont, this comedy club chain is succeeding at what it aims to do: make people laugh. Tickets are reasonably priced, and the food was well received. Not only do the comedians make the night special, but the ambiance also adds a real flare. Set in the era of the Roaring Twenties, the theme is hit on the mark with old timey music, black and white movies, and red and black speakeasy décor throughout the club.
The drinks have clever names such as “F. Scott Fitzbubbles”, “21st Amendment Long Island Iced Tea”, and “Moonshine Old Fashioned”. And they went over quite well with the crowd. The food follows in line with similarly tasty items. The restaurant offers appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, Mac & cheese, salads, entrees and delicious desserts.
On Saturday, January 18th, there were three opening comedian acts, and one headlining comedian. The Comedians were well prepared, and they took their acts to the next level through audience interaction; for many guests, this seemed to be their favorite part of the show.
Flappers has shows all week long, and even hosts birthday parties for kids and adults, as well as special events, and comedy classes. In addition to all this, they offer a comedy traffic school. This class goes by the headline: “Got a ticket? Need to lower your insurance rates? Come on down and enjoy laughing your way through a day of traffic school!”.
For those who are fans of coupons, discounts, and promotions, Flappers always seems to have new promotions to offer on their website. For any reason to need laugh, there are discounts to get you there: birthday, military, and student. And they also have a mailing list which keeps frequent visitors up to date on their latest deals.
Clearly, Flappers is trying to rewrite the book on live comedy, and they are doing well thus far.
