For those not familiar with Freedom Fences the following information is from their site:
We build fences and spay and neuter dogs living chained in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties. We work to educate pet owners and the general public on why chaining is an unhealthy, unsafe, and inhumane option.
The following is taken from the Facebook page for Freedom Fences and may help more understand what this group is about:
Company Overview
Our mission is to unchain dogs and provide them with a safe, secure area to run. We work hard to educate the owners on proper care. We are not a rescue. Each dog we assist is altered prior to being placed on our wait list, which is typically 4 to 5 months. We build twice a month in Anderson and once a month in Oconee county. Www.freedomfences@gmail.com If you would like to request assistance, please email us. If in Oconee County, email freedomfencesoc@gmail.com
Please remember that all dogs must be spayed or neutered prior to being added to the waitlist and families must demonstrate a financial need. We are in SC.
Those who can’t attend this Flapjacks for Freedom event, but who would like to donate a meal to a local group may do so as well. Meals can be donated to AIM or Haven of Rest by choosing contribute on the site for Freedom Fences.
A map showing the location of Doolittle’s is included with this article for those not familiar with the area. Those with questions may also contact Freedom Fences
