Flamespeaker Adept is one of the newest "Theros" spoilers revealed today Sept. 2, 2013 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set in an article on DailyMTG.com. Flamespeaker Adept is a powerful red uncommon creature that can have a devastating impact during combat.
Flamespeaker Adept - 2R
Creature - Human Shaman (Uncommon)
Whenever you scry, Flamespeaker Adept gets +2/+0 and gains first strike until end of turn.
"I see your future, mantled in ash."
Flamespeaker Adept can grow enormously fast, very easily. Casting Lost in a Labyrinth will allow Flamespeaker Adepts to kill a creature that has five toughness while preventing three damage from another creature, transforming the blue common from a mediocre combat trick into a deadly spell. Other cards with scry such as Omenspeaker, Voyage's End, and Read the Bones will pump Flamespeaker Adept while letting you find this shaman's best friend from your library: Witches' Eye (especially when in multiples).
Flamespeaker Adept's effectiveness is geared more towards constructed, however if you're lucky enough you'll be able to draft a solid deck around it. It's unclear at the moment just how many cards in the set will have scry, however there's guaranteed to be at least a few in your sealed pool making this Human Shaman worth your consideration.
How will you use Flamespeaker Adept?
