The Flames' win comes almost one year since the Edmonton Oilers embarrassed the Flames 8-2 on April 3, 2013 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Former Oiler Curtis Glencross recorded his first hat trick of the season, while Matt Stajan, who returned this past week to the ice following the death of his child registered four points--one goal and three assists.
Other Flames with a multi-point game were Michael Cammalleri (one goal and two assists), Mark Giordano (one goal and one assist) and T.J. Brodie (two assists). The Flames were so strong offensively, enforcer Kevin Westgarth even got on the scoresheet with his second goal of the season.
The turning point in the game came in the second period when Stajan scored on a penalty shot to put the Flames up 3-1 at the time.
Flames' goaltender Karri Ramo got his first start since February 1. He had missed the last 15 games because of a knee injury.
With the win, the Flames improve to 29-35-7 and will next play the San Jose Sharks at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Monday.
