Flames beat Sharks 4-1

According to the Calgary Flames website, the Calgary Flames defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-1 at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday night.

Jiri Hudler led the Flames in scoring with a goal and an assist while Mikael Backlund and Dennis Wideman each notched a pair of assists.

The Sharks meanwhile all of a sudden are having problems scoring goals as they have only found the back of the net once in the last three games.

The Flames meanwhile are playing their best hockey of the season. They have now won their last four games dating back to last Wednesday. During the impressive streak, the Flames have also beaten the Chicago Blackhawks, Phoenix Coyotes and Nashville Predators.

The Flames improve to 20-27-7, but are still 16 points back of the Vancouver Canucks for a Western Conference playoff spot.

Calgary next hosts the Minnesota Wild on Saturday and then have a three game road trip to Montreal, New York to face the Islanders and Philadelphia before the Olympic break.
