Flames beat Panthers 2-1 Friday

According to TSN on Friday, the Calgary Flames defeated the Florida Panthers 2-1 in National Hockey League action from the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida.

Flames rookie Kenny Agostino scored his first career National Hockey League goal at 1:34 of the second period to open the scoring. Agostino, along with Ben Hanowski and a first round draft pick (Morgan Klimchuk) were traded from Pittsburgh to Calgary for Jarome Iginla on March 28.

Michael Cammalleri then broke a 1-1 tie after Vincent Trocheck tied the game for Florida. Cammalleri scored his team high 26th of the season past Panthers veteran goaltender Roberto Luongo.

Joey MacDonald meanwhile won his fifth game of the season by making 34 saves. Calgary won despite being outshot 35-17.

With the victory the Flames improve to 33-38-7 and the Panthers drop to 27-43-8.

Calgary will next play in New Jersey on Monday evening to close out their five game road trip where they are 2-2 so far.
