For the second time this season according to CBC Sports, the Calgary Flames defeated the Edmonton Oilers by a score of 2-1 in overtime on a Saturday night in Edmonton.

On Saturday, March 1, 2014, rookie Sean Monahan scored his 17th and 18th goals of the season to lead the Flames to victory. It was also the Flames' first win since the Olympic break.

Monahan, who was the Flames' first round pick, sixth overall in the 2013 National Hockey League entry draft, leads the Flames in goals. That is very impressive because it is his first year in the NHL. Monahan has four more goals than Mikael Backlund and Jiri Hudler.

Another Flame who was solid on Saturday was goaltender Reto Berra, who made 21 saves.

With the victory, the Flames improve to 23-30-7, but are still 13 points back of the Dallas Stars for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Flames next play in Minnesota on Monday night to close out their mini two game road trip.

Calgary previously beat Edmonton in overtime by a score of 2-1 on December 7.
