According to the Canadian Press, the Calgary Flames recorded their first win of the 2013-14 National Hockey League season with a 4-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday evening.

The Flames got a multi-point game from T.J. Galiardi, who the Flames acquired in the off season from the San Jose Sharks for a fourth round draft pick in the 2015 Natonal Hockey League Entry Draft. Galiardi, a Calgary native who plays both left wing and center, scored an unassisted goal in the first period to put the Flames up 2-1 and also assisted on a Jiri Hudler goal early in the third period.

With the game tied at two goals apiece, the Flames had the offensive edge in the third period by outscoring Columbus 2-1 on goals by Hudler and Curtis Glencross, who was playing in his 400th career game.

Flames first round draft pick Sean Monahan also scored for Calgary (his first career NHL goal) at 2:27 of the first period.

Joey MacDonald picked up the win for the Flames, who were playing on back-to-back nights after losing 5-4 to Washington in a shootout on Thursday. The Flames (1-0-1), next play the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday.
