A New Hampshire woman driving along Route 27 in Exeter heading towards Epping reports watching a "large, red-orange, almost flame colored object rise up beyond some trees," according to January 8, 2012, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The woman had her child file the report with MUFON.
"The shape was like a circle with the top portion cut off. She said all around the top was gray fog/mist coming from it."
The object's movements were described.
"It went from one side of the road to the other in the blink of an eye. It then stayed within view for about 20 minutes as she continued on her way home on Route 125 N in Epping."
Exeter is a town in Rockingham County, NH, population 14,036. No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on January 8, 2012. The events occurred on December 31, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity.
New Hampshire is a current UFO ALERT 5 rating, with a low number of UFO sightings nationally. New Hampshire had one reports in December, the 45th highest reporting state - while California had 63 reports in December 2011 - the highest reporting state in the nation.

My mother is the person who saw this. She was driving home from work on route 27 in Exeter, NH heading towards Epping when she saw a large red-orange almost flame colored object rise up beyond some trees. The shape was like a circle with the top portion cut off. She said all around the top was grey fog/mist coming from it. It went from one side of the road to the other in the blink of an eye. It then stayed within view for about twenty minutes as she continued on her way home on route 125 N in Epping.
