Flagler Deputies find marijuana plants but no robbers at Palm Coast home Monday

A Flagler County man was arrested today for growing marijuana in his house, after he called deputies to his home to investigate a break-in. Flagler County Sheriff’s spokesperson Debra Johnson says 54-year old Shaune Lawrence reported that his house on Fleming Court in Palm Coast was being robbed early Monday morning. Johnson says the Palm Coast man told responding deputies that two men were in his house and had tried to rob him. Deputies did not find anyone in the house after Lawrence allowed them to search it, but they did report finding over 100 marijuana plants in the house. The Sheriff’s Office says the plants were found in “…active grow rooms containing an elaborate grow setup with lights and chemicals used for cultivating marijuana.” Detectives responded to the scene also and removed 110 marijuana plants from the residence. The Sheriff’s Office says the street value of the plants, based on a yield of 55 pounds of marijuana, would be $44,000. Lawrence was being held on $5,000 bond on charges of “…cultivating marijuana, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.”
